Welcome to the new Ashbourne Cycling Club website

customLogoWelcome to the new Ashbourne Cycling Club website. As well as looking different, we’ve made the site much more interactive and given you more options about how to stay up to date with all the latest news and info from the club.

One of the key features we wanted was to allow any club member to create content for the website. We want to get as many people involved as we can in sharing knowledge, enthusiasm, ride reports, pictures or whatever on the site.

To get started the the first thing you need to do is register for the website whether you’re a paid club member or not. That way you will have access to all the new features we’ve built in and there are plans to add more in the near future.

Just head to www.ashbournecyclingclub.co.uk as you did before and use the “register” option on the top left. You can use the site immediately. If you’re a club member we’ll upgrade your access over the next few days so you can post your own content to the site.

The website is really simple to use. It’s based on WordPress and we’ll be publishing some simple “how to” posts over the coming weeks.

Also, if you’re using a mobile phone or tablet the site will automatically resize itself, so keep your eyes peeled as the menus may need to be expanded to make them appear.

On the site you’ll find:

  • Information about the club
  • Membership benefits and details
  • Interactive calendar of all our events.
  • Interactive route information and cafe stops (and more and more pictures of cake!)
  • Hints and tips for those starting out in cycling
  • Racing updates and details of what’s going on in the area for those who are interested in racing or maybe racing for the first time.

If you have any questions or you spot a problem with the website use the “contact us” link on the main menu. We’d really appreciate your feedback on what you like, what you don’t like (particularly things that aren’t working!) and what else you’d like to see.

Cheers.

Ant
