Routes Saturday 2nd March
Please note that some of the weekly Saturday routes are changing – details as follows:-
The A route remains unchanged – distance of around 50 – 60 miles, average speed approximately 17 – 19 mph, both depending upon terrain.
The old B route is going to change into a choice of 2 new routes – a B and a C. The B route will be a distance of around 45 – 50 miles, average speed approximately 14 – 16 mph, both depending upon terrain.
The C route will be a distance of around 30 – 40 miles, average speed approximately 12 – 13 mph, both depending upon terrain.
What was originally known as the ‘C’ Route will now be called the Social Route and otherwise remains unchanged – it will be a distance of around 23 – 30 miles, average speed approximately 10 – 11 mph, both depending upon terrain.
The reason for tweaking the routes like this is so that hopefully with the increased choice of 4 rides there will be something to suit newcomers, occasional riders and regular riders. Please remember that whilst ACC riders are encouraged to leave no one behind and to ride well as a group with plenty of communication we do not provide ride leaders. Everyone is responsible for themselves and their bike and people are expected to familiarise themselves beforehand with the route they choose to ride and be able to navigate the route on their own if needs be or at the very least be confident to get themselves home. If you’re not sure which route to choose it is recommended that you opt for the easier one to begin with.
Here are the 4 routes for this coming Saturday – have a good ride everyone and thank you very much to the route planners for providing them 🙂
