Club News & AGM Minutes

ACC AGM minutes july 2017

Hi folks – please read through the attached minutes from the club’s AGM (click on the title, then click again to open up page attachment)  – if there is anything in them that you as the members wish to comment on then please relay this to your committee members  😉

Here’s a few statistics from 2011 onwards when the club ‘formally’ began, regarding Club membership figures as based on members’  yearly subscription payments:-    2011 – 14 members,  2012 – 22 members, 2013 – 22 members, 2014 – 23 members, 2015 – 54 members, 2016 – 59 members, 2017 – 58 members.

Generally turn out on the Saturday rides are well supported  – on average there being approx 12 – 18 riders on the A Route, 6 – 8 on the B,  and 5 on the C.

Following are a few items from the AGM to note now:-

Chairman Role

A committee of members was voted in.  The Chairman’s role is being covered at the moment but if anyone has a desire to take over this slot then please let us know.  Ant has done this for quite a while now and as much as he is happy to remain involved in the club he would quite like to hand over Chairman’s role to another volunteer – if you’re keen to help ‘steer’ your club forwards then maybe consider this….

First Aid Training

The Club is willing to help towards covering the cost for some members to undergo first aid training – the aim being that within the 3 regular Saturday Rides there would be  1 – 2 members in each group trained and willing to assist in any first aid situation that may arise.  Please contact your committee members to let them know you are interested in this or if you are already qualified?  Contact may be made via the club whatsapp group or by email to enquiries@ashbournecyclingclub.co.uk

Club Challenge Rides:-

16th September 2017 – local 100 and a 50 mile club ride – look out soon for posting on this with further information…..

3rd June 2018 – Cambridge Gran Fondo 2018, closed road route – an opportunity for club members to enter a challenge ride together.  Please take a look at the link and if you fancy the look of this closed road flat route (makes a nice change  😉 ), then express your interest to Jacqui Kinch who is collating names of members wishing to enter.  Contact can be made via the club whatsapp group or by email to enquiries@ashbournecyclingclub.co.uk
