Club Challenge ride report (Herewards Air Ambulance fund raiser)

Hereward’s Hundred & Hereward’s Half! Great turn out today for both challenge rides. Weather was a bit grim towards the end so the Hundred lot had an extra challenge! Particular congratulations go to Derek’s daughter Amy, 13 years old completing her Hereward Half of 50 miles (actually 53!) after only ever having done a maximum of 20 miles before. Very well done also to Robin having completed his first century ride! Many thanks to Ant for the routes – very scenic on the Half and comment from Jacqui to say “they particularly enjoyed the unexpected mountain biking section on the Hundred route!”??
Best part of the day though was at the start when Hereward, Claire & family gave us a wonderful send off together with a gift of chocolate brownies for everyone – kept us all going !!
Latest count up is £300 so far, raised for Midlands Air Ambulance – further donations to come.. Great day’s riding for a great cause in recognition of the very valuable work provided by the Ambulance Service to cyclists in the past and present. Many thanks to everybody for all you support ??
