ACC Challenge Routes – ‘Hereward’s Hard Rides’

On Saturday 5th October in place of our usual club rides there will be a choice of 3 Challenge Routes. If riders wish to do so they are invited to make a contribution online to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, which is funded entirely on donations. Midlands Air Ambulance is the charity that ACC has chosen to support for the last 2 years in recognition of the invaluable service they provide. Click here for the ACC funding page on the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity website.

The meet time will be 0830, although riders doing the 75 and 100 routes may wish to meet earlier. Meeting place will be as usual in the main car park outside Ashbourne Leisure Centre.

ACC Riders, their friends and family are invited to take part in the Challenge Rides. Please note that the Hereward 50 route is a rough figure of 8 so if you take a look at it and wish to shorten the route to half the length this can be easily done by turning right up Stubwood Lane after leaving Rocester. The 50 route heads straight on here and takes the Stubwood Lane turning later after 41 miles. If you shorten the route the recommended cafe stop then would be Denstone Farm Tea Room.

Here are the routes and cafe stops:-

Hereward’s 100 Strava Route – anti clockwise, cafe stops at the No Car Cafe near Rushop and the second one is at Jackson Nurseries near Bagnall.

Hereward’s 75 Strava Route – anti clockwise, cafe stops at Hulme End and Meynell Langley

Hereward’s 50 Strava Route – figure of 8 clockwise direction, cafe stop at Heath House Farm, Caverswall Old Road, Forsbrook.
